Who could ask for a better week of weather to play baseball?!

Well into our first BC Baseball affiliated season, we had a number of OMBA teams competing this past weekend.

To kick off the weekend, our Bantams were up first Friday night and then again on Sunday in a doubleheader against Penticton. The team performed admirably in all their contests, but most impressively saw tremendous improvement right through the weekend. All of the pitchers got a chance to showcase their stuff in combination with great hitting and an amazing effort, the entire coaching staff is truly excited to unlock the potential of this squad. A team that always remains upbeat and rooting for each other, they truly showed why the Bantams are the leaders of the OMBA lineup. Congratulations to the entire team and coaching staff for their strides this weekend!

Our PeeWees travelled to the hallowed Darroch Park in West Kelowna to take on a very formidable West Kelowna squad. Our team battled ferociously and competed well against a very tough team. Standout performances on the mound by Zoe Anast, Dillon Wiens and Armaan Deol led the team to compete against this tough team. The PeeWees notched their first DOUBLE PLAY of the season on a fly ball hit to Right Field, Deol caught the ball and doubled up the runner leaving from first on a great throw to 1B Grady Pearson. We are so proud to have this team battle so well against a very established program in West Kelowna, it just goes to show how accomplished our athletes are here in the South Okanagan. Congratulations to our PeeWee team for a valiant effort. Your progress is exciting to watch!

Our Tadpoles and T-Ballers were in action as well this past weekend. The Osoyoos Tadpole Diamondbacks were short handed but did an awesome job in a double header against Princeton on Saturday.

Early season competition for both sides, the rules were somewhat modified. Players hit off a combination of coach pitch and the tee. Since the Diamondbacks were outnumbered 9 players to 6 in the first game and 12 to 8 in the second, they all got extra turns at bat. By the second game few players required the tee and several were connecting with the first or second pitch.

The team showed excellent base running and fielding skills and made great strides in knowing where to make plays.

Coach Grandma Claudia was proud to see how far players have come since the beginning of the season and amazed at how much progress they made between the first and second game.

The future is very, very bright for these young superstars and the smiles on their faces are the proof. All of the players came to the ballpark ready to play and worked their hardest. Both teams had a ton of fun! Congratulations to you guys on a great first weekend of interlocking competition. You made us all very proud!

What a weekend! Congratulations to all our teams for great performances!
